2025 World AIDS Day Events in North Carolina

Western North Carolina AIDS Project (WNCAP), the National AIDS Memorial, Campaign for Southern Equality, and Revolve Gallery are partnering together to bring 7 panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt to Asheville as part of the Community Display Program.

Join us for House of Mercy’s 3rd Annual World AIDS Day Luncheon. This meaningful gathering brings together community members, advocates, and supporters to honor those affected by HIV/AIDS, celebrate resilience, and reflect on the progress made in care and treatment.

Strike Out HIV is Back! Join us on Saturday December 6th from 1-3:30 pm at Textile Lanes in Belmont, NC. Tickets are $25 each and include 2 hrs. of Bowling, Shoe Rental, an event T-shirt and a Raffle Ticket for Door Prizes (Must be Present to Win). Proceeds raised from this event will benefit the Gaston AIDS Council & The Patrick Fund, which provides emergency financial assistance for eligible services not covered by existing programs for individuals living with HIV. Please join us for an afternoon of fun as we raise awareness in our community about HIV. Space is limited – Buy Your Tickets Today!

In honor of World AIDS Day, we’re bringing our community together at a moment when HIV funding, immigrant communities, and LGBTQ+ rights are under direct attack in North Carolina. This will be a space for us to take collective action, deepen our connections, and stand firmly in solidarity. We’ll also be making holiday cards for our state legislators, urging them to fully fund Medicaid in the state budget. In this moment, it’s important to remind our elected officials that our communities are watching and expecting them to do the right thing. Lunch will be provided, and to make this accessible, we’re offering mileage reimbursement for any Action Team member who wants to travel to join us. Others may join the NCAAN Action Team and attend virtually.

The UNC Center for AIDS Research is thrilled to announce our 27th Annual World AIDS Day Symposium, taking place on Friday, December 5th, 2025, from 9:15AM to 12PM. This inspiring event brings together researchers, clinicians, community members, and advocates dedicated to advancing the fight against HIV/AIDS.

These events are part of the organization’s Ron Johnson Red Ribbon Week.

• December 1 at 6PM: World AIDS Day Memorial. Governmental Plaza (110 S Greene St, Greensboro, NC 27401)
• December 3 at 10AM: State of HIV and THP Virtual Event. Online (Zoom)
• December 6 at 11AM: Greensboro Holiday Parade. Downtown Greensboro. Come support as a volunteer!

Join us as we Celebrate World AIDS Day with a Tea Dance, along with vendors like Alliance of AIDS Services Carolina there to help educate and even offer testing. We will also have entertainment, music, and additional vendors! This is a Free Event, but we would like to collect Nonperishable Pantry Items for Under One Roof and Alliance!
